 Master of Business Information Systems

The Master of Information Systems (MBIS) is a unique program suitable for students with previous qualifications in any discipline. If you want to advance your career in the areas of IT management, applications development, information systems, business consultancy and knowledge management, the MBIS is for you.

 

Course Description

This course will help you gain an understanding in the area of business information systems to a level of depth and sophistication consistent with senior professional practice. In addition to preparing you for a leading professional role both locally and overseas, the MBIS will assist you in dealing with rapid changes in the field.

 

All students undertake these four core units:

Students without backround in IT (undergraduate degree or significant work experience) take four foundation core units:

Students who have a background in IT take these four core units, which are available as electives for students who have done the foundation unit:

  • Business Process Modelling, design and Simulation
  • IT for Management Decision Making
  • Customer Relationship Management and Data Mining
  • E-Business

Additional electives, including electives from the School of Business, will be available but subject to change.
